Reality tv star and social Brittny Gastineau has reeled in a real winner – Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps!  The couple have reportedly started dating recently and were spotted over the weekend shopping together at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Who is Brittny Gastineau?

Gastineau is the daughter of Lisa Gastineau and legendary NFL defensive end Mark Gastineau.  She is an established model and Manhattan socialite.  She previously starred on the E! Network series Gastineau Girls with her mother in 2005 – 2006 which chronicled her looking for love in New York City.  She has also made appearances on the E! Network show Filthy Rich: Cattle Driveand NBC’s Identity.

Phelps has won 16 Olympic medals in the Athens and Beijing Olympics.  He holds the record for the most gold medals won in a single Olympics.

If things work out for the couple, Brittny could be on hand to cheer him on when he competes at the 2012 Olympics in London.  Phelps has said they will be his final competition.

Sorry to go all TMZ on you, but whenever Cupid's arrow hits Baltimore's golden boy, Michael Phelps, it warrants mention. The 14-time Olympic gold medalist is reportedly dating Brittny Gastineau, the daughter of former NFL single-season sack record holder Mark Gastineau, according to TMZ.com.

Phelps is gearing up for his final run as an Olympian two years from now in London, though some are questioning how dedicated Phelps is to the pool at this point. I'm not qualified to speculate.

I am qualified, though, to point out that Phelps was rocking an Orioles hat when he was spotted with Gastineau in Los Angeles over the weekend. Bonus points to Phelps for keeping it hometown.
